Im going through...Something

“I’m going through something…”

Now at one point or another we all have said I am going through something. Or I’m going through. How long have you said that phrase? How many times have you claimed this phrase? Well let me help you the way my Pastor had to help me. First and foremost stop speaking negativity over yourself and your situation. You still going through because you keep claiming you are going through. You have taken ownership of that thought process. You need to speak life in to your situations. Life and death are in the power of the tongue.

“People will be rewarded for what they say; they will be rewarded by how they speak. What you say can mean life or death. Those who speak with care will be rewarded.” Proverbs 18:20-21

As a man thinketh so is he. What do you spend your days thinking about is it a benefit to just you or to all. Do you visualize the best outcome for the situations that arise in your life or do you see only what is going on at that moment in your life? It is time to stop allowing your mind to stay fixated on the negative not so good thing. It is time to embrace the vision of what will come out of that situation. Speak life, think life, live life. Life is so much better when you stop looking at the negative. Stop worrying about the things you don’t have control over. You can not save everybody some people don’t want to be saved. However you can pray for them. Lift them up in prayer and let God take control of their situations. Now back to you it is up to you to renew your mindset in order to think the positive in order for positive to show up in your life. It is up to you to cast down any negativity someone tries to speak into your life or your situation. Don’t take hold of everyone else’s words because some words are not of God they come straight from the devil.

“My brothers and sisters when you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and will have everything you need.” James 1:2

We all have things that arise in our life that may try and throw us off course but you must stay planted in the word of God. The word unlocks so many treasures and answers that we have over everyday life. It is fine to have someone else tell you what the word says but make it a priority to know what it say for yourself. Ask God for wisdom and understanding when you read the word. You want God to help you understand the words of the bible clearly because if you are not guided by God the enemy will come in and use those very words against you. Watch your words, focus on the word of God, and definitely watch what others say around you so you don’t absorb it in your spirit.

When does your heart stop crying (revised)

When does your heart stop crying?
The tears come from in the depths of my soul
to long for something that you want most of all.

You see it around you.
In friends, in family but when does your heart stop crying and it becomes a reality.

I don’t want to wipe another tear or have a sad thought.
I want what it seems others have.
The joy, the fulfillment of my God given man.

God gives us the desire, desires of our heart.
Well my heart, mind, and soul all want that God given man.

I try to deny my thoughts. That slight pain so it won’t overtake me but each day is a battle when those you are with turn out to be no good.
The face may change but the story seems to stay the same.
Girl meets guy and it seems alright but after awhile you see that he isn’t the God given man for me.

When does my heart stop crying and the tears fade away?

I know God is preparing me so until then I must give Him praise and wait.
Yes I must wait patiently for it is He who must find me.
Soon my heart will cry tears of joy and that brings peace to my soul.
For in time I cry no more.

He who Finds a Wife

He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD. Proverbs 18:22

Ladies now that is what the word of God says. So let us meditate on that verse. You see I want to help somebody today.

The word does not say we need to go out and act outside of our character to get a man to notice us so hopefully one day he will want to claim us as his property. It says, "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD." Ladies you must allow the man that God has for you to come into your life. Remember the enemy tries to send his troops as well. So you must know what God has for you in the title of Husband. We have all had an instance or more where Mr. So Sweet and Clean has come in and talked a good word to us but surely before long that sweet smell became sour. Now some of us kept trying to cover up the odor but the scent was still there until you got tired of the smell. I hope you are still with me.

Now the Boaz, God has for you may have not come your way yet because God may still be working on Him or better yet God is working on YOU. We must look at ourselves and discover who we are, what we want, what are our strengths and certainly our flaws. No one is perfect we all have some flaws. Focus on the Kingdom of God first and see what God needs for you to do and He will take care of the rest. God is not a God that He should lie. God knows your heart and he knows what you need in your Husband more than you know. We all have our list but God has the right to add or take away from that list to give you the right Husband. You don't have to do anything extreme to attract a man so stop now. Respect yourself and those around you and let God handle His business. As you are in waiting praise God for your God-given marriage nothing less will do. Develop a relationship with God. Allow Him to lead you and Meditate on being the Proverbs 31 Woman for your God-given Husband (oh yeah and some of you Meditate on being Submissive) Love you like the Lord loves me.

Submission Provides Peace

This devotional for me is more transparent into my life at this moment. I feel an urgent need to have peace in this season to just bask in the glory that is our God. To sing Him praises and give Him reverence. I chose this as the devotional to share because God knows our heart and there are others who need this message like me. I asked God, “What is it that I am missing? I try to walk on the right path daily, I do my best to be an example of what your word teaches and says. What am I missing Lord? He answered instantly and led me to:

“Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored: If you remove wickedness far from your tent and assign your nuggets to the dust, your gold of Ophir to the rocks in the ravines, then the Almighty will be your gold, the choicest silver for you. Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God. You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways. Job 22:21-28

As I reflect on the power of God and what I was to get from this passage the words came alive. Every area and every thing in my life needs to be submitted to God. I can not leave out one thing because that one thing that I choose not to give Him will taint everything else. For some of us it may be finances, a relationship, or perhaps our children. We must give it all to Him so He can make it clean and when we do He will provide the peace that we are lacking just as calm as the ocean breeze on a Summer day. He speaks to us daily and throughout the day we must be sure to not be so busy that we miss His voice. As we acknowledge Him each day He will direct us. Some things may have to be given up or set aside for a season but surely He knows what is coming and what we need to make it through. Trust His word that He tells you. We all know He is faithful. Give whatever you’re holding back to God. Release it today and He will take care of you and it. Be blessed as we continue strong for this Month. God is still at work.

Peace that surpasses all understanding,

Get Connected to God

I can not say enough how important it is to get connected to God. If you are not saved choose today to give your life to Christ for the word says, "Jesus is the way the truth and the light." There is no way around that statement for me. God has so much in store for you as his child but you have to be obedient to His Word. You must stop playing church and become an active member. Don't only get excited when you hear the word and then lose your fire, no you must stay connected keep your faith strong. Act in faith. Know who your God is and what he can do. Man is limited. God hs no limits. My God can do all things!

“Call On Me”

Have you ever watched a movie, read a book or heard a song and saw or heard something you didn’t before. Well that happened to me this morning. One of my favorite R&B Love songs was on this morning. But I got overwhelmed with joy and heard God’s Word through it. The song is titled; “Call on me” and some of the words are below:

If you ever need someone that you can put your trust in

If you ever need someone that you can call a true friend

If you ever need to have a shoulder just to cry on (just to cry on)

Baby, just believe in you know in me, you can rely on

If you just call on me

I will come running to you

Whatever you need, I’ll give it to you

I'll give you my love (love, love)

I'll give you my peace (peace, peace)

I'll give you my time (time, time)

I'll give you everything you need

(I'll give you every single thing you need)

I'll give you my love (my love)

I'll give you my joy (joy, joy)

I'll give you my life (my life, my life)

I'll give you everything you need, you need

(I'll give you every single thing you need)

This is God he wants us to rely on his word and understand with faith that he will be there. We are His children, His babies; He created each one of us in his image. So your so called friends don’t answer when you need them, your family is wrapped up in themselves, or your spouse just doesn’t hear you. God does! He is listening and waiting for you to call on Him. I am 100% sure that God hears and sees. Walk in all things God and stay clear of things or people that don’t line up with his word. You have not because you ask not. Ask and you shall receive. He heard your prayer the first time you asked so you don’t need to ask again. You now should be acting in faith and thanking God for it. Thank You God for _______________. Everyday we have something we are thankful for. Don’t let a day go by without acknowledging and thanking God. Call on His name because he is the One we can rely on.

“When God says… No”

Have you ever asked God for a specific something?

Did you believe in all your being that God would in fact fulfill your request?

However God said, “No.”

You find yourself asking, “Why?”

I think in some instance or another that we all have experienced when our Father God said, “No” and our request did not manifest.

I must say that in those instances that I have been disappointed in the past and allowed my emotions to get the best of me. However, God has always healed my temporary hurt and showed me that he had something better for me. When God doesn’t give you what you thought you wanted it is because he knows he has something better for you. God wants you to have the desires of your heart under pure and perfect conditions. God will not give you less than the best he has for you at that time. Perhaps you want a car you go car shopping and every car you looked at was used because you wanted something you could afford but it wasn’t what you really wanted. When comes time to get financing for the used car there is problem after problem leaving you with no car. One day you get this feeling that you should go car shopping again. While at the dealership they ask you have you considered a new car. They show you a car you love but are unsure if it is in the budget. Well once in financing you are approved for a low interest rate and a payment the same you would have paid for the used car if it was for you.  You get to drive off the lot with your NEW car. In this situation God said, “No”. No to your settling mindset because he wanted you to experience the best for you at that time. Always know God wants you to have the best available although at times we choose to ignore what God is saying and showing us leaving us to have to learn the hard way. When God tells you, “No”, just say okay Lord, practice patience and God will lead you to your Yes.

Relationships are connected to the Next Level

First of all, I want to take this time to acknowledge that God is awesome and so faithful to His word. Do you know how blessed and favored you are to be His child? God is moving His people to new heights they can’t even imagine. Are you ready? Are you willing to do what is necessary for God to take you to the next level?

I want to just talk about relationships. The relationship(s) you encounter or even involve yourself in is just as important as going to the next level. The word says there is a time for everything this can be said regarding relationships. Not everyone will go to the next level with you because their season will have ended in your life. Then others are there for a lifetime as you grow and mature in the next level of your life they are right there growing and receiving with you. But what about those ones who just linger around? You know the ones who aren’t in your same mindset, who always gossip or speak negativity. You can tell them you just won a red car and they will say, “Why red it should have been blue?” Or you bought a house and they say, “Why over their in that area?” You say it is a nice sunny day they say, “It’s too hot out here.” You get the point. You should surround yourself around people who are of your character and the ones who you can learn from to be better. Don’t call everyone your friend, not every one is a friend. You have to pay attention who you let in your circle because once you invite them in it can be trouble getting them to leave. Some relationships must die in order for you to get to the next level. One person could be hindering your blessing. God has much in store for you but you have to be ready to take hold of it and obey what God says for you to do. This may mean letting go of your “friend” you have known for years. Or stop hanging around in the break room at work listening to the latest news around the office. The people you hang around are hanging around you remember that. Have you ever heard of someone going to jail or getting in trouble because they were hanging with the wrong crowd? They did not do anything wrong but their “friend” did and because of it they were accused and in trouble. They became guilty by association. Now I would not want that to be me. I want to be blessed by association. I want to be blessed to be a blessing to others. I want to hang with the blessed and favored group and let their characteristics and blessing come on me. You should evaluate yourself and those you are round. How do you and they measure up to what your next level is? That is the question.

Prayer:

Father God I come to you in the name of your precious son, Jesus. I ask that you touch the hearts and minds of your child. Help them to see who is and is not for them Lord. Allow them to acknowledge what you want them to do in order to get to the next level. Father God I Thank You in advance for miracles signs and wonders manifesting in their lives as they yield to your voice. Amen

I met a lady…

I met a lady today
as brave as can be;
trouble came in and
tried to take her life you see.

The report wasn’t good.
The news was much to bear.

No need to worry.
There is one who cares.

Doctors said surgery,
her heart said no.

Stand in the word.
Yes, this she must do.

Acting in faith,
in order to receive her breakthrough.

God provides healing
to those who believe,
stretch your arms high and wide.

Get ready to receive.

 Praise

Give God the Praise for all He has done, is doing, and will do.
Repent

Confess to God and ask for forgiveness.

Acknowledge

God is your source; acknowledge His presence in all you do.

Yield

The voice of God gives instructions; listen and obey when he speaks.

My Prayer

I ask God to love me
Show me who I am.
Take me to a better place than where I really am.
My desire is to know You and make You proud of me.
He helps me to see how to deal with my situations.
What do I do?
I cry heavenly Father I need you.
You hear me; I know you do.
You tell me the struggle is over
I know your word is true.
I love you God
I know there is no me with out you.
I thank you in advance for what you are going to do…

Prayer and Praying

The Lord’s Prayer
Our father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come
thy will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread
and forgive us our debt
as we forgive our debtors.
Lead us not into temptation
and deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom
the power
and the glory forever and ever.
Amen

I remember the days when my grandmother would have me kneel next to the bed at bedtime and say the Lord’s Prayer. It was weird then but as I think back it gave me a sense of peace. Give God amount of my time and praying for our family and friends. As you get older sometimes you don’t think to give God time allowing yourself to kneel before Him and pray. I know God has been telling me to get back to the basics. Take the time to kneel down before him and pray.
* Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)

Sometimes I allow my prayers to focus on me and a little on others and I want to take the focus off me and my issues because God already knows my need before I speak it. The same is for you God knows what your need is before you ask.

* For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord against those who do evil. (1 Peter 3:12)

* Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you for your sins. (Mark 11:24)

Allow yourself to be open and hear from God. He gives us daily guidance and instruction through the Holy Spirit.

Trust God

Trust God!

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV Bible
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

John 14:1 NIV Bible
Jesus says, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God. Trust also in me.

Insight: Can I trust that God hears me and ready to work on my behalf? As a child of God, He is always available to you. No one understands. I have no one to talk to. That’s true no man is always available but God is available you. You can go to the Father and talk to Him anytime, wherever you are and he will hear you. Our request is not fulfilled in our time but in God’s timing and according to God’s will. Have you ever prayed for something and didn’t receive it and realized you were happy or relieved that specific request didn’t come to pass. God has great and mighty things in store for you. He doesn’t want to give you something that is not a good fit for you. You can’t look at others and want what they have. You don’t know how they got it or if they are meant to keep it. For instance you want a new car because your friend got a new car at a great price. So without God’s guidance you go out find a car and buy it maybe even had to pay a little money down. And you think, God made a way and I have a new car too. Now you have to pay the car note 60 days later. Reality sets in, “Man I have to pay this much every month” and it is not as easy of a transition as you thought. You realized you should have waited for a new car. You were caught in the “Living like the Jones’ Syndrome.” You saw what someone else had but that isn’t what God had for you. When our Father God releases something to us it will be blessed and he will provide all the needs to take care of it. Trust God in every situation don’t try to pick and choose where you want God to fit in. Believe me it doesn’t work. God will give you the answers you need if you ask Him and wait for Him to respond. Patience is a necessity because you can’t rush God.

Prayer:
Father God,

I come to you ask that you help this beautiful woman to come to know and truly trust you. You will not fail her. You have her best interest at heart. Thank You God that you have plans to prosper her, plans that give her a future and a hope. Thank You Father that when she comes to you, you are always there to listen. You are the Alpha and Omega. Her finances are covered because she depends on you on how and where she is to use it. She doesn’t look for her answers from friends or family she comes to you in prayer and patiently waits on your response. Thank You for being a source of wisdom, knowledge, and most importantly love in her life.

In Jesus Name,
Amen.

God created You!!

God Created You!

Psalm 139: 13-18 NIV Bible
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake I am still with you.

Insight:

How wonderful is it that God created you before your physical parents even knew you. Our Father, God took time to mold and shape you into who you were meant to be. He made you to be fearfully and wonderfully made to walk through this life with boldness knowing he is your Father. He gave you your freckles, your curly hair, your eyes, and most importantly he gave you a unique spirit and a special gift for your life. My gift is to minister in song and to comfort/counsel others. I was not created to draw or be a mathematician. What is your God given gift? Who has God created you to be? If you don’t know go to God and simply ask Him. He will surely give you the answer. God knows your life story from the beginning to the end. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and future. Jeremiah 29:11 Yes we all have made a wrong decision at some point in our life but it is important to not continue to go down the wrong path. We are to recognize our wrong, confess it to God, ask for forgiveness, and allow God to get us back on the right path. Are you on the course that God has set out for you?

Prayer:

Father God,
I thank you for making me especially for your glory. I thank you that the plans you have for my life will be fulfilled. I thank you that I walk through my day with boldness. I am confident in knowing you are my father and I am your child. You love me enough to forgive me of my sins and lead me in the right direction. I open my heart to you Lord and I ask that you come in and give me a makeover. My thoughts are your thoughts, my actions portray your actions, and my spirit is lead by the Holy Spirit. I am renewed. I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

In Jesus Name,

Amen.

My Personal Story- Motivated to Change

My Story

I come from a single parent household. My father was an absent father. I had a history of depression where on some days I wanted to go to sleep and not wake up. I became an unwed mother. These are some of the issues my background held. I can share my story because I am not a prisoner any longer to what happened in my past. God has forgiven me for my actions and I have no control over the actions of others and why they chose to treat me in the way they did. I no longer have to hold everything in. I no longer have to live with such anger, hatred and rage toward others. I have been on a path to change since April 3, 2002 when I had my daughter. God and my baby saved my life. I discovered unconditional love. I was headed down a dark path but God turned me around. I was changing at a steady pace for years. In December 2006 I went through a life changing experience. The death of 3 important people in my life included in this count was my granny. The most loving and giving woman I knew. She meant the world to me. All three of these individuals were on medication, being treated by a doctor for illness, and/or considered obese. I slipped into a depressed numb state during this time. However as I began to return to my daily life I realized I didn’t want to live my life the way I had been living. In a relationship that was a roller coaster that always ended with the same result. Always working and on the go to busy for my kids. I was a church part-time member instead of an active full-time member. Enough was enough. I began to get my life in line with God’s help. I ended my 5 year roller coaster ride(relationship). I made more time for my kids. I joined a ministry at church that I was called to do. I began to think more about my health because I want to be around for years and years to come. I became accountable to God. As I became accountable to God, He showed me who I was in his eyes. I now hold my head high living a life focused on putting God first and him being my source and guide in all things. I have my good days and not so good days like everyone else. However I do my best to not be overwhelmed and take it one day at a time because today is what I have if tomorrow never comes.

I am medication free and I have no health issues but I know plenty of people who do. My heart's desire is to get you to live a healthy life and that does not mean being a size 6. It means being concious of what you do, say, think, and eat because how you repond to your health today can give you hope for tomorrow.

My Prayer:

Father God,

I come to you in your son Jesus’ Name. Please bless this woman and make her whole. Keep your shield of protection around her. I ask that you heal her heart of any negativity that has been spoken or done to her. She is special. She does matter. She will make it. The devil is defeated and has no authority over her and her life. Lord fill her up with joy throughout her day. Give her peace as she lays down to rest. You have prepared this day for her and she is prepared for this day. Give her the strength to press on even when she wants to give up. Thank- you Lord for helping her to grow and mature into the mighty woman of God you want her to be. Amen.

Attitude is everything!

Attitude is everything!

Spiritual divas are not moved by the opinion of others… The only person you can control is yourself… A true spiritual diva does not allow her moods and emotions to be tossed to and fro just because of the presence and/or behavior of a man. She is rooted and grounded on a foundation that is infinitely deeper. She has a divine relationship with a Supernatural Man. Through her interaction with the Lover of her soul, she comes to know and understand that she is a well-kept, divinely loved woman who declares, “My beloved is mine and I am His”(Song of Songs 2:16)

The way you see yourself is the way others will see you but let us not forget how God sees you.

God says you are beautifully and wonderfully made. Remember you are made in his image and he makes no mistakes. Your eyes are brown because wanted them that color, your hair is curly because God wanted it like that, you are shorter than some people because God wanted you like that, You are here today because God wants you here. Your assignment is not complete or maybe you haven’t even started. Either way you have a purpose, a God given Purpose.

Renew your mind and how you see yourself today. As you discover who you are and whose you are some people will have to be let go. They may have been around for month’s maybe even years but their season in your life has ended. Be bold and let them know they were appreciated but you are going in a new direction. If you need help ask God to remove those who are not for you. Trust me it works.

Beautiful and Bold

"...Divinity and victory walk hand and hand. Second Peter 1:3 says God's divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

We are made in the image of God so let us walk with confidence. Our heads held high and knowing that victory is ours.

My reflection:
I refuse to buy a bigger size in clothes when I am not very happy with the size I am wearing. Though I am a confident full figured woman I want to drop a few sizes and let my hour glass figure show a little clearer. I have taken the easy road just adjusting my clothes size over the years but now I must stop and get myself on track. I am beautiful. I am bold. I am losing inches and pounds. I am Victorious!!!
**Remember to work on your goals next week I would like everyone to be ready to share 2-3 goals from any one of the areas.

DIVA

"...first definition for diva is divine, we can totally attribute this special quality to being a God thing. A deposit of the divine nature of God was placed into the spirit of every woman when He breathed the breath of life into her and she became a living soul. In that moment, she was set apart for a unique purpose with divine credentials for living out her calling. A big invisible stamp was placed on her that made everyone recognize she was special.
.... something happened ---the diva within was lost. The hand of God was crushed beneath disappointments, criticisms, negative experiences, bad choices, and unfruitful behavior she regrets. NOW is the time to shake the dust off and let that diva seed blossom and unfold!

**taken from The Diva Principle by Michelle Mckinney Hammond

We all can admit to good and not so good choices we have made in life but every choice came with a lesson and molded you in to the woman you are. We have been forgiven for our sins so let us get rid of the baggage of the past and press on to a strong promising future.
