Prayer and Praying

The Lord’s Prayer
Our father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come
thy will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread
and forgive us our debt
as we forgive our debtors.
Lead us not into temptation
and deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom
the power
and the glory forever and ever.
Amen

I remember the days when my grandmother would have me kneel next to the bed at bedtime and say the Lord’s Prayer. It was weird then but as I think back it gave me a sense of peace. Give God amount of my time and praying for our family and friends. As you get older sometimes you don’t think to give God time allowing yourself to kneel before Him and pray. I know God has been telling me to get back to the basics. Take the time to kneel down before him and pray.
* Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)

Sometimes I allow my prayers to focus on me and a little on others and I want to take the focus off me and my issues because God already knows my need before I speak it. The same is for you God knows what your need is before you ask.

* For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord against those who do evil. (1 Peter 3:12)

* Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you for your sins. (Mark 11:24)

Allow yourself to be open and hear from God. He gives us daily guidance and instruction through the Holy Spirit.
